A little about myself

Hi, I’m Derek, born and raised in Southern California with ties to the Hawaiian Islands. Growing up here, I feel fortunate that beaches are only a 15 minute drive away and the mountains and deserts are a couple hours drive perfect distance for a day trip.

This allowed me to develop different hobbies like Kayaking, fishing, body boarding, snorkeling, snowboarding, rock climbing, dirt bike riding, photography, camping and hiking. I see life as an endless journey, with every experience waiting to be discovered. My hope for this blog is mainly to document new experiences and have a place to share my photography while at the same time opening up new places for readers to visit.

Travelling is something I’ve always enjoyed but until recently has only been within the US. What I love most about traveling is learning about different cultures and cuisines, giving me new perspectives and an appreciation of how others live around the world while creating new memories and meeting new people.
